The Role
We are looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our dynamic Technology Team. As a Data Scientist at Wykco, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying advanced analytical models across multiple proprietary platforms. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other analysts to extract actionable insights and drive the evolution of our tools, making them smarter and more impactful for our users.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and advanced analytics to enhance platform capabilities.
Work on multiple platforms, including the Wyksight Platform, the Wykco Database, and future technology initiatives.
Analyze and interpret large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights that drive business and program outcomes.
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to integrate analytical models into platform workflows.
Design and implement data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and processing.
Conduct rigorous data quality checks to maintain the integrity and accuracy of platform data.
Stay updated with the latest trends in data science and proactively apply cutting-edge techniques to enhance platform performance.
Requirements
Experience: 3–5 years in data science, analytics, or a related role.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Python or R, with experience in libraries like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or PyTorch.
Expertise in data manipulation tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote-first hybrid environment.
Based in South Africa, with flexibility to attend in-person meetings occasionally.
